WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

Head Chair

Honorable directors, student officers, delegates, press, admins and guests,

Welcome to KISMUN 2020. My name is Dongwon Jung and it is a great honor to serve you as the head chair of the WHO in this conference.

Speaking in front of other delegates is a difficult thing, especially for the delegates with little experience. I have participated in MUN since grade 7. At that time, I was neither confident nor passionate. There were many delegates who made great speeches and POIs, so I was afraid of being refuted by them. However, after attending other MUN conferences, I realized that delegates with excellent skills are also humans. They are not monsters and they will not try to harass you on purpose. Do not be afraid of them but try hard to learn as many things as you can from them.

Always keep in mind that chairs will be with you during the conference. If you need any help, we will put all the efforts to support you.

Delegates do not hesitate to speak and express your opinion. You are the leaders of the conference. The floor is open to everyone who is wishing to speak. Be confident, try your best, and ignite your passion.

Sincerely,

Dongwon Jung

Deputy Chair

 Hong Kyu Min

Honorable delegates, directors, student officers, admin staff, press team and PMC

Welcome to KISMUN 2020! I’m Hong Kyumin and it is a great honor to stand as deputy chair of the World Health Organization.

I would like to take this opportunity to share one of my experiences. Let’s trace back to 2018 when I was in grade 9 and first participated in mun as a delegate in RENMUN.

It was extremely hard for me to just write an operative clause and even though I wrote one, it was re-written by the main submitter. Also the chair sent me a lot of notes telling me to make speeches and POIs. I thought I do not want to make any speeches and POIs, rather than I should pay more attention. I could not make speeches and POIs confidently until KISMUN 2019. Surprisingly, I started not to be embarrassed anymore, enjoyed debates and finally got the title, ‘Deputy Chair’. I still do not know what changed me.

The point is everyone in the world is running their own race, based on their time zone. So delegates, don’t worry even if you make mistakes or cannot answer the POIs. Just relax and try to enjoy the whole process.

I hope you all Ignite Your Passion in KISMUN 2020.

Sincerely,

Hong Kyumin
